GREDO KENYA
Grassroots Empowerment and Development Organization (GREDO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities across Kenya. We focus on child protection, education, health and nutrition, livelihoods, peacebuilding, and access to clean water and sanitation. Through strategic partnerships, we work to deliver sustainable solutions that improve lives and strengthen communities.
Our Journey
Grassroots Empowerment and Development Organization (GREDO Kenya) is a nonprofit organization established in 2026 to address critical development and humanitarian needs across Kenya, particularly in underserved and marginalized communities. Building on a strong foundation of grassroots engagement, GREDO Kenya is committed to reaching vulnerable populations with inclusive and sustainable solutions.
With a mission to serve those most in need, GREDO Kenya focuses on key thematic areas including child protection, education, food security and livelihoods, peacebuilding, health, nutrition, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene).
While Kenya has made significant development progress, many communities especially in arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs), informal urban settlements, and remote rural areas continue to face persistent challenges. GREDO Kenya seeks to bridge these gaps by delivering impactful, community-driven interventions that improve lives and build resilience.
GREDO Kenya operates with a growing presence, starting from its national coordination office in Nairobi and expanding programs across priority regions, including northern Kenya, coastal areas, and informal urban settlements where vulnerability levels remain high.
Through strategic partnerships with government institutions, local communities, and national and international organizations, GREDO Kenya works to strengthen systems and empower individuals. Our approach emphasizes collaboration, sustainability, and local ownership to ensure long-term impact.
As we begin our journey in Kenya, GREDO Kenya is dedicated to fostering a society where children, women, and communities live in safety, health, and dignity with access to education, economic opportunities, and a supportive environment for growth and development.
